It's been a while, but I've finally finished my next piece. Man this one took forever!
Total time on this baby took 4 months in multiple stages, I'll get to the stages later.
The idea started with my last piece, stained glass, which is when I had decided I wanted to try to make a piece with Sharpies (You know, the permanent marker). I didn't know what I wanted to do for about a month, I just knew I wanted to combine Sharpie and paint to make something different.
I thought it would be cool to include a message into a complex theme with something we see everyday. The theme was a sort of "trybrid".
- QR Code - I messed up here, after I measured, I realized that I made a rectangle instead of a square, it was too late, but I guess one could call it abstract? Oh ya, plus the 4th bordered square,
- Part of me wanted to do this because I have seen some other pretty cool designs with QR Codes, and the other part of me because, it somewhat relates to what I do at work. I also though it would look cool on the wall.
- The Message - "We Are Good People", was inspired from my other, I guess, non-abstract, half of me.
- I mix some ideas of work into my art a bit. This one was inspired by:
- All the people around my are really GOOD PEOPLE - you know, the kind you would intro to Mom and Dad.
- The Creative in me- I am a creative and allowed to be at work. Allowing creativity in the workplace helps me with ideas outside of the work place.
- Knowing I would be allowed to hang it up in Headquarters
- Tribal Doodling - I'm still not really sure where this idea came from, all I know, is that I thought it would look cool.
